The Wickersley Clock and Wickersley Show
The Wickersley Clock is located on Bawtry Rd between Green Lane and The Grove
The Clock was completed in 1995. It was jointly funded (50:50) and 'Presented to the people of Wickersley by the Wickersley Agricultural Show Society and Wickersley Parish Council
A time capsule was laid as the clock was completed – it is said that inside is a copy of the Rotherham Advertiser, one or two cups from the Wickersley Show and various items of information about the history of the popular annual Show and about the Wickersley Parish Council.
Cllr Peter Goodall, who lead on this project was one of the last surviving Trustees of the Wickersley Showground Association and also a Wickersley Parish Councillor
It is understood that the Earl of Scarbrough cut the ribbon at the official opening

Thanks also to Wickersley resident, Terence Kennedy, who has been in touch to tell us a bit more about the unveiling of the clock back in 1995. He tells us that the entertainment was provided by the Dave Brennan Jubilee Jazz Band which, for 25 years, had a residency at the Three Horseshoes just across the road from the clock. Sadly Dave Brennan has passed away and Terence now leads the band.
